Travelling with the family? We all know that some destinations are great for kids and some are not. If you’re considering travelling in the United States and you’re planning a trip for the whole family, here are some family-friendly destinations to visit:

Florida is one of the top destinations for families around the world. Many choose to go to Disneyworld in Florida, while others prefer Universal Studios or both. You can also head south to Miami for a few days and enjoy the beach, or take the whole family on a boat ride in the Everglades and see the alligators. If you have time, be sure to head down to Key West, which is the southernmost part of the continental United States and has some of the best sunsets around.

San Diego
San Diego is also a great city for families, with the Children’s Museum, Coronado, and SeaWorld easily accessible. The weather is impeccable here, and you can enjoy fun on the beach, tour through Old Town and grab a delicious meal in Little Italy. Don’t forget to go see the seals in La Jolla.

Chicago is another family-friendly city, located in the midwest. Here, you’ll find Navy Pier which is hugely popular for tourists and locals. Chicago also has some great museums, and you can take a river cruise to learn more about the city. If your family loves to eat out, Chicago has some of the best restaurants around- be sure to try the deep dish pizza.

Washington D.C
D.C has a lot going for it, but it can also be a relatively cost-effective place to travel, since many of the best museums and attractions are free. Take the obligatory photos outside the White House, stroll through the museums, and check out Capitol Hill.

Big Island, Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the most popular places for tourists, yet most people head to Honolulu. If you’re hoping to get a little more off-the-beaten path, while still enjoying everything the state has to offer, head to The Big Island. Enjoy Kona coffee, go swimming with dolphins or diving with manta rays, and be sure to go snorkelling. The hiking here is also incredible, and it has a laid-back vibe you won’t find on other islands.
