There’s something about the city of sin which causes us to get excited at the mere thought of a weekend away with friends or our significant other.

Las Vegas is like Disneyland for adults, and whether you’re after luxury and opulence, you plan to drink away your money, or you’re ready to gamble, the city has something to offer everyone.

Here are some things you can do while on a Las Vegas Vacation:

Burn holes in your wallet

With so many resorts and hotels, you’ll find both high end and budget shopping, and you’re sure to stumble across the perfect outfit for a night out. Head out to the outlet malls if you’re watching your budget, or splurge at Marc Jacobs if you’re treating yourself.

Watch a Show

I don’t know many people who don’t see shows in Vegas, and I can still remember the delight with which I watched one when I was in town. The show was a mixture of comedy, tricks, singing, and nudity, and I had an excellent time.

Along with Cirque du Soleil and Brittany Spears, expect to see some of the best comedians in the country, peep shows, concerts, and broadway-style extravaganzas.

Wear your stretchy pants

The buffets are famous in Las Vegas, and it doesn’t take long to see why. The bigger resorts have some of the best, and you’ll usually get a discount if you visit the buffet where you’re staying.
Do some research online as the best rated buffets change each year, and you’ll want to be able to compare and try something new each day. I’m a huge fan of the Bellagio and Caesars Palace, although be prepared that you may not be able to walk without waddling after you leave.

See the sights

Along with the strip, there are plenty of things to see around Las Vegas, and you’re just a hop, skip, and jump from the Grand Canyon. Las Vegas helicopter tours and trips are extremely popular, and you’ll be able to see an amazing view of the strip and the dessert or take the helicopter to the bottom of the canyon and enjoy a champagne breakfast. The views without the hike? Sounds like my kind of trip.

Win some money

Gambling is one of the biggest draws to Las Vegas, so be sure to set yourself a limit and leave your credit cards at home, as those ATMs may end up bankrupting you. Whether you’re a fan of slot machines, or you like to use a bit more brain power, gambling is a fun way to make friends and maybe win some money.

It’s always a good idea to gamble earlier on in the night before you drink too much, so your decision making skills will be sharp and you’ll have a greater chance of cleaning up. I don’t know about you, but I would like to leave Las Vegas a richer person than when I arrived!
