Many people assume that after the terror attacks in Paris is November last year, it may be a good idea to visit another destination instead. This is untrue and Paris is still a must-visit destination.

But what makes Paris such a great place to visit? The truth is that it’s hard to define exactly what makes the city such an amazing place, but here are a few reasons why you may want to check it out:

It’s an artists’ dream
Paris has long been a place that draws artists, including some of the biggest contributions to art in history and struggling street artists hoping to make it big. While a visit to the Louvre must be done, there are also many other museums worth visiting like the Musee d’Orsay and the Pompidou Centre.

See the landmarks you’ve seen in the movies
If you’ve never been to Paris, visiting can feel like you’re in a movie or tv show. To skip some of the lines, try to leave your hotel first thing in the morning and get there early so you’re not surrounded by tourists as you visit the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Chateau de Versailles and Champs-Elysees.

Enjoy the culture
Street performers can be found throughout the city, and for film buffs, the French Cinema has one of the largest film archives in the world. Whether you want to see the opera, ballet or symphony, Paris is the place to see and feel French culture.

Shop until you drop
Parisians have long been known for their fashion and style, and most of them can effortlessly throw together an outfit that would take us less-stylish people hours to dream up. While Parisians always look on-point, Paris is the place to go if you want to do some serious shopping and maybe even give yourself a makeover. Along with designer boutiques, haute couture houses and vintage shops, you’ll also find flea markets and bookshops galore, so leave a few days at the end of your trip to spend time doing some serious shopping.

The people are great
Parisians have a reputation for being somewhat snobby and rude, particularly if you don’t speak French. However you’ll find that a smile goes a long way, and practicing your French (no matter how basic) is appreciated by the people in Paris- they often just want to see you trying. For the most part, you’re likely to find Parisians pleasant, helpful, and very well dressed.

The romance is alive
If your relationship needs a little romance, Paris is the perfect place to visit. There are few places in the world as inherently romantic as Paris, and you’re likely to reignite your relationship while you amble through the city

Are you planning to visit Paris? Don’t forget to book your airport transfers so you can get straight into exploring the city and you won’t need to try and find the way to your hotel when you first arrive.
