India is one of the most diverse travel destinations in the world. There is so much here, that no matter what you’re looking for in a trip you’ll be able to find it in India. The Golden Triangle is a very important region of India that encompasses three great cities, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. If you only visit three places in India, ensure it is these three. They provide great contrast and a real insight into the wonderful world of India. Depending on how much time you have available to visit India, an organised tour might be your best option. It’s no secret that India can be a challenging place to travel at the best of times, but you can’t let this put you off exploring one of the most diverse and interesting places in the world.

By enjoying a multi centre holiday in India you can explore all of the attractions of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur within one trip. Here are some of the highlights of each of those places:

Delhi:
This crazy city will engage all of your senses. One of the things you have to do while in Delhi is head up the Jama Masjid mosque and enjoy the view down to the old town. At less than £1 for the entry, it’s one of the best travel bargains you may find anywhere in the world. You can also spend some time exploring the beautiful Lodi gardens before making your way to The National Museum to get a crash course in Indian history.

Agra:
It goes without saying, you have to visit the Taj Mahal. One of the most famous buildings in the world and for good reason, the Taj Mahal is absolutely stunning. Beyond the Taj there’s also Agra fort which is a beautifully designed fort that is worth spending a few hours exploring. The Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah is a special, spiritual place. I also suggest, if you’re an animal lover, checking out Wildlife SOS, an animal shelter that is making a tangible difference to the animals in the region.

Jaipur:
No trip to Japur is completely without visiting the Amber Fort, parts of which date back to the 1700′s. This fort and palace complex is vibrant with stories of various kings, and if you visit during the evening there is a light and sound show. There’s also the Govind Devji Temple which is a special spiritual location. Sheesh Mahal, the hall of mirrors, is a unique building and landmark. Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing is a great way to get some exposure to some traditional styles of art.

India is a wonderful place to discover and these three cities will allow you to fall for all of India’s charm and enchanting history.
